After Office Hours, Weekends, and Holidays

After the office is closed, please call 510-797-7766. You will be connected to our answering service and they will give you a number to call the Pediatric Advice Nurse. If your child needs medical care in the evening, weekend, or holiday and our office is clsoed you have a few different options:

Pediatric Advise Nurse

The advice nurse will give you home care advise depending on the illness of your child. If your child is very ill it is advised to go to urgent care or ER. if you do speak to the advice nurse after hours there will be a nominal fee.

Urgent Care of Emergency Room

If your child needs medical care you can either go to urgent care located at 2500 Mowry Ave. Ste 212 (open 8 am-8 pm 7 days a week). Emergency Room is located at the main hospital and is open 24 hours. If you do visit the Urgent Care or ER please notify us, so we can get the records for our review.

Medical Records

All medical records are kept strictly confidential and will not be disclosed without your written permission. If your child is a new patient to this office, please sign a Release of Records form at the front desk for us to obtain medical records from your child’s previous doctor. *HIPPA COMPLIANT*

Prescriptions

Medication refills are handles only during regular office hours. Call your pharmacy for refills before you have used all your medication, at least 24 hours for authorization to refill the prescription. In certain circumstances, a repeat office visit may be required before the medication is refilled. Try to anticipate your medication needs before weekends and holidays. Please do not ask us to prescribe medication by phone for illnesses we have no had an opportunity to evaluate in person. Potential medical risk far outweighs any advantage gained in convenience.
